Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and brought the situation under control.

The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS.
TFD reminds residents that smoke alarms are a critical first line of defense in protecting your home and family from fire. Remember to check your smoke alarms monthly and replace the batteries at least once a year to make sure they are in proper working condition. Install a smoke alarm in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of your home. If your smoke alarms are more than 10 years old, replace them to ensure they are functioning properly.
